Saving Lives

RASTA’s gunshot detector is a plug-and-play AI device that identifies potential indoor gunshot sounds and sends rapid, location-specific alerts to designated responders. Protecting schools, places of worship, workplaces, and public indoor spaces.

Research and Real-World Validation

The gunshot detector is supported by research, real-world testing, and controlled validation to help ensure reliable performance in critical situations.

Research-Backed Technology

Developed through academic research at Eastern Michigan University supported by published work in AI-powered acoustic gunshot detection.

Live-Fire Validated

Validated in real-world firearm testing at Dearborn Police Department to confirm detection performance.

Dispatch Visibility in Dearborn

RASTA has received permission to display detection alerts on a dedicated tablet inside the Dearborn dispatch center, supporting faster visibility when an authorized detection event occurs.

Tested With Real Gunshot Data

Trained and tested using gunshot and non-gunshot sound data to help detect firearm events quickly while reducing false alerts.

Every Second Matters in an Emergency

Emergency situations require instant detection, precise location awareness, and immediate response coordination.

A reported average of five citicial minutes may pass before bystanders call police during an active-shooter event. During that delay, survival may decrease by an estimated 7-10% for every minute without treatment.

Gunshot Detector

Instant Detection

Built-in AI analyzes indoor sound patterns in real time to identify potential gunshots quickly.

Real-Time Alerts

Instant notifications are sent to designated responders and emergency contacts. Public-safety integration is available where configured.

Indoor Location Sharing

Provide indoor location information to help responders understand where the event occurred.

Easy Installation

Plug the device into a standard wall power outlet and complete setup through the RASTA app.

gunshot detector

A fast, AI-powered safety system that detects indoor threats in real time and sends instant location-based alerts to improve emergency response.

AI Monitoring

Built-in AI analyzes indoor sound patterns in real time to identify potential gunshots quickly.

Detection and Alert

When a potential gunshot is detected, the system sends an alert with the incident location to designated responders and emergency contacts within one second.

Emergency Response

When an event is confirmed, responders receive precise indoor location and navigation details for a faster response.

The RASTA gunshot detector processes sound directly on the device. Audio is not continuously transmitted or stored in the cloud. Event-related audio is transmitted only when a potential gunshot is detected and the configured audio feature is enabled. The system is designed to deliver rapid critical alerts while supporting security, privacy, and applicable compliance requirements.

Understanding RASTA

No. the Gunshot Detector does not continuously stream conversations to a remote server.

Sound is analyzed locally on the device for acoustic patterns associated with a suspected gunshot. The system is designed to focus on emergency detection rather than listening to or monitoring everyday conversations.

Alerts are delivered through the Gunshot Detector app to authorized users connected to the device. Depending on the organization’s setup, this may include administrators, security personnel, facility leaders, designated staff, or approved response partners.

Organizations should decide in advance who receives alerts and how those alerts fit into their emergency-response plan.

Not in every deployment.

The RASTA app can immediately notify designated users through the app. Direct access by law enforcement, dispatch centers, or other response partners depends on the organization’s location, local agency approval, technical compatibility, and a separately coordinated response arrangement.

The number of devices depends on the building’s size, floor plan, room separation, wall construction, outlet availability, and coverage priorities.

Our team can review a floor plan or conduct a site walkthrough to help recommend practical device locations.

No. It is for indoors only.
